Product Description
The PFA rotary evaporator uses a motor to drive the distillation bottle to rotate. Since the still is constantly rotating, the addition of zeolite can be avoided and bumping will not occur. At the same time, due to the continuous rotation, the liquid adheres to the wall of the distiller, forming a liquid film, which increases the evaporation area and accelerates the evaporation rate. It is often used to recover and evaporate organic solvents.
Instructions:
1. Height adjustment: manual lifting, turn the handwheel on the motor column, clockwise rotation means upward movement, reverse rotation means downward movement.
Electric lifting, touch the up button to raise the main unit, touch the down button to lower the unit.
2. There are two external joints on the condenser for connecting cooling water. One end is connected to the incoming water and the other is connected to the outgoing water. Generally, it is connected to tap water. The lower the temperature of the condensed water, the better the effect. The upper port is equipped with a vacuum joint, which is connected to the vacuum pump hose for vacuuming.
3. Before starting the machine, first turn the speed control knob to the minimum, press the power switch, the indicator light will turn on, and then slowly turn it to the right to the required speed. Generally, medium and low speeds are used for large evaporating bottles, and higher speeds are used for solutions with high viscosity. Low rotational speed. The flask is the standard interface No. 24, and comes with two flasks of 500mL and 1000mL. The solution volume is generally not more than 50%.
4. When using, the pressure should be reduced first, and then the motor should be started to rotate the distillation flask. At the end, the motor should be stopped first, and then the atmosphere should be vented to prevent the distillation flask from falling off during rotation.
Please note when using:
(1) During vacuum distillation, when the temperature is high and the degree of vacuum is high, the liquid in the bottle may explode. At this point the vacuum should be reduced to allow smooth distillation.
(2) When stopping evaporation, stop heating first and then stop vacuuming.
