PFA perfluoroalkoxy alkanes is widely used in semiconductor, geology, biotechnology and other fields due to its excellent chemical properties. How to effectively clean PFA utensils and avoid cross-contamination is very important.


Initial cleaning and cleaning procedures after each use of new PFA labware, including all types of bottles, vary by application, especially if PFA labware is used for sample preparation or sample pretreatment for trace metal analysis.


The cleaning method introduced here is the traditional acid immersion method. The PFA acid tank cleaning groove used is provided by Nanjing Binglab. Experimenters can use this method as a basis and improve it according to the needs of the experiment. It is mainly suitable for sample pretreatment of trace metals. Method Ⅰ (general cleaning method)

1. Carefully rinse the inner and outer walls of the vessel with pure water to remove surface impurities. 2. Soak in weak alkaline detergent and heat to 100°C for cleaning to remove organic residues. 3. After cleaning, wait until it cools down, and then wash it carefully with pure water.

Method Ⅱ (ultra-pure laboratory vessel cleaning)
1. First, wipe off the floating dust on the container with a dust-free cloth, and repeatedly rinse the inner and outer walls of the container with tap water.

2. Put an appropriate amount of tap water and surfactant in a clean plastic basin, stir evenly and put the utensils into plastic basin, after fully soaking and cleaning, rinse the surfactant with tap water, and then rinse the utensil repeatedly with pure water.

3. Put them into a clean PFA groove, add aqua regia and place on a hot plate to heat at 120°C for 24 hours.

4. Rinse the inner and outer walls of the vessel with pure water again for 3-4 times, add 1:1 HNO3, soaking and steaming at 120°C for 24 hours.

5. Repeat step 4.

6. Rinse the inner and outer walls of the vessel with pure water for 3-4 times, add deionized water MQH2O, and soak at 120°C for 12 hours.

7. Finally, use deionized water to rinse the inner and outer walls of the vessel for 3-4 times, and place it in an ultra-clean table to air dry for later use.

PFA groove

Characteristics of PFA cleaning groove:
1. The appearance is translucent, easy to observe the reagents in the tank;
2. High and low temperature resistance: -200~+260℃
3. Corrosion resistance: resistant to strong acid, strong alkali, aqua regia, hydrochloric acid and various organic solvents;
4. Insulation resistance: dielectric properties have nothing to do with temperature and frequency;
5. Anti-pollution: low background value, the content of lead and uranium metal elements is less than 0.01ppb;
6. Low dissolution and precipitation, will not pollute chips, wafers, silicon wafers, etc.;
8. Stable chemical properties, good recoverability, not easy to deform;
9. Teflon plastic, durable and not fragile.
