Sometimes, standard laboratory equipment simply isn’t big enough.
Recently, NJbinglab completed a custom-built PTFE distillation system for hydrofluoric acid (HF) purification, developed around the specific requirements of our customer.
The project called for a larger-than-standard setup, so instead of adapting an existing product, we designed the system around the customer's process. The final configuration integrates a large PTFE vessel, peristaltic pumping system and low-temperature condensation components into a complete distillation setup.
When working with highly corrosive chemicals such as HF, material selection is particularly important. PTFE offers excellent chemical resistance and is widely used for demanding chemical handling and laboratory applications.
For this project, the equipment configuration was customized according to the customer's requirements, including the overall system size and component arrangement.
For us, this is one of the interesting parts of custom manufacturing.
A project can start with a simple question:
“Can you make it bigger?”
And from there, it becomes a matter of engineering, manufacturing and finding the right solution for the application.
